Coming Up With A Glamorous Boudoir
After I bought the flat it was tired and in need of a coat of paint, but was, all round, in great condition. I enjoy junk shops and car boot sales and I’ve discovered a number of ornaments therefore I wanted a style in which all of these items would look perfect. I additionally wanted a very relaxed and uncomplicated style to make it a totally soothing space to enjoy at the end of the day. I had noticed some extremely battered looking furniture in a magazine that seemed great once painted, so I thought I would try and create that style myself. I thought the window seemed blank and frosty. It needed dressing to become pretty and practical, so I decided on a whitewashed wooden slatted blind to begin with and although I was worried it might block out the sunlight it doesn’t in any respect and in actual fact it looks terrific. After this was in position I got myself some drapes and personalised them. They add a softness and contrast to the blind making a gentle feature of the window. To show off my mementos, I needed a slender ledge above my bed. I couldn’t find a single thing in the shops to meet my needs and so I asked a buddy to help make me a picture ledge. This meant I could get the appropriate size and I painted it to complement the wall prior to adding my precious possessions. With my bed and furniture in place, I looked to add all the final adornments, such as my favourite scented candles from yankee candles and true grace candles. Also I purchased an old-fashioned mirror, and some wooden picture frames I treated with a coat of paint. The room looked better the more textures I brought in so I looked to find more. I added reindeer and sheepskin rugs, and lots of throws on the bed and I just loved how cosy and snugly it all looked. The room is airy during the day, warm and cosy at night.
